  4. Remove the pen cap
  5. Take a new needle and remove the paper tab
  6. Push the needle straight onto the pen and twist until secure

For Mounjaro:

  1. Examine the pen label to confirm it's your prescribed dose
  2. Check the expiration date
  3. Look through the pen window to verify that the solution is clear and colourless
  4. Remove the pen cap
  5. Take a new needle and remove the paper tab
  6. Push the needle straight onto the pen and twist until secure

Performing a flow check

For Wegovy (required for each new pen):

  1. Turn the dose selector until the flow check symbol lines up with the dose pointer
  2. Hold the pen with the needle pointing upward
  3. Press and hold the dose button until the dose counter returns to 0
  4. A drop of solution should appear at the needle tip
  5. If no drop appears, repeat once more. If still no drop, try with a new needle

For Mounjaro (required for each new pen):

  1. Hold the pen with the needle pointing upward
  2. Press and hold the injection button until you see a stream of liquid
  3. If no liquid appears, do not use the pen and contact Compound support

Flow checks are only needed for the first dose from a new pen, not for subsequent doses from the same pen.
